Hamas Built Secret Terror Network in Europe Targeting Jewish and Western Sites

A Swiss newspaper investigation by Neue Zürcher Zeitung has revealed that Hamas developed a covert terror infrastructure across Europe over several years. This network included sleeper cells, hidden weapons caches, and smuggling routes designed to enable coordinated attacks on Jewish, Israeli, and Western targets. The operation, described as a "European October 7 plan," was intended to launch simultaneous assaults in multiple countries around the second anniversary of the October 7 terror attack.

The investigation, based partly on German security authorities' materials, indicates that the infrastructure was established well before the October 7 attacks. Hamas allegedly created logistical networks and weapons stockpiles ready to be activated upon command from the organization's leadership. The plan was reportedly thwarted by intelligence and law enforcement actions across several European nations.

Raids and arrests have taken place in Germany, Austria, Denmark, the UK, Greece, and Cyprus. In Austria, authorities discovered a weapons cache containing loaded pistols, magazines, ammunition, and explosives. Vienna served as a key logistical hub for Hamas's European activities. In London, a 39-year-old British citizen was arrested on suspicion of involvement, with investigations revealing the transfer of firearms and ammunition through Denmark, Germany, and Austria. Four Hamas operatives have been convicted in Germany related to this case.

Contrary to Hamas's previous claims that its operations focus solely on Israel and the Palestinian territories, evidence shows a sustained effort to establish operational capabilities in central Europe. The German federal prosecution has filed indictments against Hamas members for building terror infrastructures and preparing weapons caches across Europe. This long-term strategy reflects Hamas's intent to expand its operational theater far beyond the Middle East.
