Main Suspect in Israeli Tax Authority Bribery Case Released to House Arrest

Boris Gorovitz, the central suspect in the Israeli Tax Authority bribery case and former deputy tax assessor in Petah Tikva, has been released to 14 days of house arrest. Another suspect, Sasson Cohen, aged 75 and retired about eight years ago from the same Petah Tikva branch, was also released to 14 days of house arrest. Meanwhile, the detention of a third suspect, Alhadi Tahah, was extended by an additional four days. Tahah is accused of accepting bribes in exchange for arranging tax refunds worth millions of shekels for taxpayers who submitted false expense claims in their income tax reports at the Petah Tikva branch.
