Three Passengers Arrested for Disorderly Conduct on Lufthansa Flight from Israel
An unusual security incident occurred on Friday at Ben Gurion Airport involving three young men who were detained on a Lufthansa flight bound for Frankfurt. According to police, the three passengers, two brothers aged 25 and 26 from Jaffa and their 17-year-old friend from Bat Yam, became disruptive and endangered the safety of other passengers and crew just before takeoff. The flight crew alerted authorities during pre-flight preparations, prompting rapid police intervention.
When officers boarded the plane, the suspects refused to comply with instructions from both the crew and police. During their arrest, the men allegedly assaulted officers, biting some and causing injuries to four police officers and two police volunteers, all of whom required medical treatment. One of the suspects reportedly threatened a female officer by saying, "I hope the 7th of October happens to you again," referencing the date of a recent traumatic event in Israel.
Video footage circulating on social media showed the suspects verbally abusing officers and resisting removal from the aircraft while other passengers and crew awaited resolution. The three remain in custody and are expected to appear before the Magistrate's Court after Shabbat, where police will seek to extend their detention pending further investigation. Authorities emphasized the seriousness of violence against law enforcement and any behavior jeopardizing passenger and crew safety, confirming that the investigation is ongoing.
