Three Detained on Lufthansa Flight at Ben Gurion Airport After Assaulting Police

Three young men in their twenties from the Gush Dan area were arrested on a Lufthansa flight at Ben Gurion Airport shortly before takeoff to Frankfurt on July 26. According to police, the suspects caused a disturbance on the plane, refused to comply with crew instructions, and posed a danger to passengers and staff. The airline refused to depart until the three were removed from the aircraft.

Ben Gurion Airport police officers boarded the plane and requested the suspects to disembark, but they refused. The suspects were then forcibly detained and taken for questioning at the airport police precinct. During the arrest, the three assaulted the officers, with some police and volunteer officers sustaining minor injuries, including bites. Four police officers and two volunteers required medical treatment.

One of the suspects reportedly told a female officer, "I hope you experience what happened on October 7," referencing the date of a significant recent event. The police investigation is ongoing, and authorities plan to request an extension of the suspects' detention at court the following day.

This incident is notable for the suspects' violent behavior on an international flight and the injuries sustained by law enforcement personnel during the arrest. The police emphasized the seriousness of the disruption and the threat posed to flight safety and passenger security.
