Two Men Arrested in Tel Aviv on Suspicion of Indecent Assaults on Three Women
Police arrested two men in Tel Aviv over the weekend on suspicion of indecent assaults against three women at three different locations in the city. The first suspect, a Palestinian in his 30s from Huwara who is in Israel without a permit, is accused of touching two women on the buttocks, once in Park HaMesila and again at the nearby Teeder club.
According to the police, officers were called to Park HaMesila after a woman reported being touched there, and they arrested the suspect at the scene. During the investigation, police developed suspicion that he may have carried out a similar act shortly before against another woman at the nearby club. He was questioned and then brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court, which extended his detention until Wednesday.
Police said they are examining the circumstances of both incidents and the possibility that he was involved in both. The suspect denied the allegations during questioning.
In a separate case, officers from Tel Aviv’s Lev station arrested a man in his 40s from Haifa after he allegedly entered a women’s restroom at Frishman Beach, touched a woman inside, and committed an indecent act against her. He also denied the accusations in his interrogation. Police said he is expected to appear at the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court today, where they will request an extension of his remand.
