Tel Aviv police arrest suspect after alleged indecent assault on 16-year-old

Police from Tel Aviv South Station in the Ayalon district arrested a suspect in southern Tel Aviv on Monday, shortly after receiving a 100 emergency call about a sex offense against a 16-year-old boy. According to the report, the man had allegedly waited for the teenager, approached him once they met, and committed an indecent act against his will.

Officers reached the scene, searched the area, located the suspect and detained him. He was identified as a 37-year-old resident of Ubaydiyah in the West Bank. Police said he was taken to Tel Aviv South Station for further investigation.

At the end of the process, he is expected to be jailed, and police will seek to extend his detention depending on the investigation findings.

The incident comes after two other men were arrested over the weekend in Tel Aviv on suspicion of committing indecent acts against three women at three separate locations in the city. Police said one suspect, a Palestinian man in his 30s from Huwara who is in Israel without a permit, is suspected of touching two women on the buttocks at HaMesila Park and at the nearby Teder club. Another suspect, a Haifa resident in his 40s, is accused of entering a women’s toilet cubicle at Frishman Beach and committing an indecent act against a woman there.
