Police Arrest Two Suspects in Separate Lewd Acts Cases in Tel Aviv
Police said on Sunday morning that two men were arrested in separate incidents in Tel Aviv on suspicion of committing lewd acts. In one case, a man in his 30s from Hawara who was staying in Israel illegally was detained over the weekend after complaints that he had sexually assaulted a woman in Tel Aviv.
According to police, officers arrived after receiving the report and arrested the suspect at the scene. During the arrest, investigators learned he was also suspected in a second incident, in which he allegedly committed a similar offense at a nearby nightclub.
He was questioned and brought before a court, which extended his detention until Wednesday. In the second case, a man in his 40s from Haifa was arrested on suspicion of committing a lewd act against a woman at Frishman Beach.
Police said the suspect allegedly entered the women’s restroom stall at the beach and carried out the act against the woman there. He was due to appear in court on Sunday morning for a hearing on extending his remand.
