Red Star Demands 250,000 Euros from Maccabi Haifa for Omri Glazer Transfer

Maccabi Haifa recently signed striker Andrea Novakovic and is now focusing on strengthening its goalkeeper, central defender, and left-back positions. The club aims to sign Aviv Salem as a primary option until Pierre Cornu and Yinon Feingezicht recover from injuries. Currently, goalkeepers Giorgi Yermakov and Sharif Kiyouf are unlikely to play for Haifa this season, prompting the club to resolve the goalkeeper situation promptly.

Omri Glazer, the preferred goalkeeper target, has agreed on personal terms with Maccabi Haifa and is expected to be among the club's top earners. However, negotiations with Red Star Belgrade over compensation remain unresolved. Red Star insists on a fee of approximately 250,000 euros (close to one million shekels), despite understanding Haifa's financial constraints. Insiders believe the issue will be settled soon, allowing Glazer to finalize his contract.

Meanwhile, Maccabi Haifa is also in advanced talks to sell goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov to Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkiv for just over three million euros, with the deal expected to conclude shortly. On the injury front, the club hopes Manuel Benson will return to full training by the end of the month after struggling with a tendon injury for several years. Benson's availability for the Toto Cup match against Hapoel Haifa later this month remains doubtful.
