Maccabi Haifa Plans to Sign Four New Players Ahead of Upcoming Season
Maccabi Haifa has been active this summer, securing key additions including Bruninho from Karpaty Lviv and Yair Mordechai, who had a strong season with Hapoel Kiryat Shmona. The club also recalled several loaned players such as Yarin Levi, Iyad Khalili, Itay Ehud, and Amit Arzi, although Arzi is currently injured. Despite these moves, Haifa is far from finished strengthening its squad.
The club is expected to sign four more players: Omri Glazer is close to finalizing a deal, two defenders are set to join, and a foreign striker will be brought in, funded by the departure of Tribenta Stewart. A final decision regarding Pedro is still pending, but Haifa plans to add another foreign center-back regardless. Emmanuel Iyo from Sturm Graz is among the candidates for this position.
The left-back spot is also likely to see reinforcement after professional manager Lior Rafaelov informed Daniel Golani that he is not in the club's plans, and Pierre Cornu is not expected to return before 2027. The club aims to bring in a top foreign striker to replace Stewart, who is not part of the professional plans and may be loaned out if no attractive offers arrive.
Separately, Dolev Haziza is attracting interest from Maccabi Netanya, which currently offers him the most lucrative contract in Israel. Haziza is exploring options abroad but is expected to play in Israel for Netanya if he stays in the country.
