Israel Faces Above-Normal Heat in Mountains and High Humidity on Coastal Plain

On Friday, Israel experienced partly cloudy to clear skies across most regions, with notably heavy heat in the central mountains and inland areas where temperatures were slightly above seasonal averages. Meanwhile, the coastal plain continued to endure the traditional summer haze accompanied by very high humidity levels, intensifying the sensation of oppressive heat, especially during midday hours. Nighttime brought relative comfort to the mountainous areas, but the coastal plain and lowlands remained humid and stifling under low cloud cover.

Saturday's weather is expected to remain largely unchanged, with temperatures staying high and stable. Winds along the coastal plain will be moderate in the morning, strengthening by afternoon, causing the Mediterranean Sea to become rough and unsafe for swimming. A further temperature drop is anticipated in the coming days.

Temperature forecasts for key cities include Jerusalem at 22-32°C, Tel Aviv 24-30°C, Haifa 25-29°C, Afula 25-35°C, Ashdod 24-30°C, Ashkelon 24-28°C, Beersheba 22-36°C, Mitzpe Ramon 21-32°C, and Eilat 28-41°C. Despite the intense heat, approximately 60,000 people were reported to have enjoyed outdoor activities across the country over the weekend.
