Woman Killed in Car Accident on Highway 65 Near Iron Interchange
A woman in her 30s died Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 65 in Wadi Ara, near the Iron Interchange. She had exited her car and was found lying on the roadside without pulse or breathing, suffering multiple severe injuries. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics confirmed her death at the scene. Another woman, aged 47, was lightly injured and taken to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera.
The incident follows a fatal head-on collision in Ashdod on Wednesday involving a 35-year-old pregnant woman who was initially in critical condition but later died at Assuta Hospital. Her baby was delivered by cesarean section and remains in serious condition in the neonatal intensive care unit. Four others sustained minor injuries in that crash.
Later on Thursday, a five-year-old girl was fatally hit by a car in Jerusalem. She was rushed to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead. MDA medics reported performing emergency resuscitation efforts at the scene.
Police have opened investigations into the circumstances of the accidents in both Ashdod and Wadi Ara. The series of tragic incidents highlights ongoing road safety concerns in the region.
