Woman Killed After Stepping Out to Receive Traffic Ticket on Highway 65

A fatal traffic accident occurred Thursday morning near the Iron Interchange on Highway 65, claiming the life of a woman in her 20s from Kafr Qara. The woman had stopped her vehicle on the roadside following a suspected traffic violation and was outside her car when another vehicle veered off its lane and struck her with great force. Emergency medical teams arrived shortly after the incident but were forced to declare her dead at the scene due to severe injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Traffic investigators from the Manasseh district in the Haifa region arrived at the scene to collect evidence and testimonies. The investigation is focusing on the circumstances that led the offending vehicle to leave its lane and hit the woman standing on the shoulder. There is suspicion that the driver was speeding.

Rescue teams from United Hatzalah reported that two vehicles were involved in the accident, with one reportedly colliding with a parked car. Paramedics described the victim as a woman approximately 30 years old who was found unconscious and without a pulse. Despite immediate medical efforts, she was pronounced dead on site. The other driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene. United Hatzalah spokesperson Nachman Tobol emphasized the importance of safety precautions when stopping on road shoulders to prevent such tragic accidents.
