Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Car on Highway 25 Near President Junction

A man in his 40s was fatally struck by a vehicle on Highway 25 near the President Junction late Sunday night. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics found him with severe multiple injuries and pronounced him dead at the scene. Another person sustained minor injuries and was taken to Soroka Medical Center. Senior MDA medic Meir Almaliah and emergency medic Razek Altouri reported that despite immediate medical assessments, the man's injuries were too severe to save him.

The incident follows a similar fatal accident last week on Highway 65 near the Iron Interchange, where 20-year-old Al-Hajar Kaba was killed after being hit by a car while standing outside her vehicle during a traffic stop. Police said she was stopped lawfully by a traffic officer, but a passing car veered off course and struck her. It remains unclear whether she was instructed to exit her vehicle or did so voluntarily. MDA teams found her with critical multiple injuries and declared her dead at the scene. The driver, a 47-year-old woman, was lightly injured and hospitalized at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center.

Paramedic Lia Bonder and emergency medic Noor Jamal described the crash as severe, noting the victim was found without pulse or breathing. Additional MDA teams treated and transported another injured person in stable condition. Both incidents highlight ongoing road safety concerns in the region.
