IDF Uncovers Hezbollah Terror Stronghold in Southern Lebanon During Operation Roar of the Lion

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed new details about their recent operation in the town of Bint Jbeil, Lebanon, a known Hezbollah terror stronghold. During Operation Roar of the Lion, units from the 98th and 91st Divisions jointly encircled Bint Jbeil and the nearby terror village of Ainata in southern Lebanon. The 98th Division entered Bint Jbeil and gained operational control within about a week, focusing on destroying terror infrastructure, neutralizing explosive threats, and eliminating militants. After completing their mission, these forces moved to other sectors. Concurrently, the 91st Division entered the area to consolidate and strengthen operational control, continuing efforts to fully destroy remaining terror infrastructure and clear the area to remove threats to Israel.

The IDF reported that over 1,500 terror infrastructures were destroyed and more than 500 militants were killed during the operation. Bint Jbeil historically served as a key Hezbollah base from which hundreds of terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians were planned and executed. The forces uncovered hundreds of weapons embedded within civilian infrastructure, including terror command centers, launchers, and weapons depots. The operation aims to eliminate Hezbollah’s operational capabilities in the region and enhance Israel’s security.

The IDF spokesperson emphasized the strategic importance of the operation in degrading Hezbollah’s terror network and securing Israel’s northern border. The 91st and 98th Divisions continue their activities to ensure the complete removal of threats in southern Lebanon.
