9-Year-Old Haredi Girl Critically Injured in Jerusalem Traffic Accident
A 9-year-old Haredi girl was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on Rabbi Shmuel Salant Street in the Mea Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem on Wednesday afternoon. Emergency teams arrived promptly and performed resuscitation efforts at the scene before rushing her to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in critical condition.
According to reports received by Magen David Adom's 101 dispatch center at 14:19, the girl was a pedestrian hit on one of the main streets in the historic Haredi neighborhood. Paramedics Shimon Zaltz and Nachman Shai Ravivo, who were first on the scene, described her condition as unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and suffering severe injuries. They immediately began CPR, including chest compressions, ventilation, and medication administration, continuing their efforts en route to the hospital.
United Hatzalah medical teams also responded and assisted with the resuscitation attempts. The spokesperson for United Hatzalah in the Jerusalem district confirmed their involvement in the initial life-saving measures. The girl remains in critical condition at Shaare Zedek Hospital as medical teams continue to fight for her life.
