3-Year-Old Girl Critically Hurt After Being Hit by Car in Kiryat Ata
A 3-year-old girl was critically injured this evening, Monday, after being struck by a car in Kiryat Ata. Magen David Adom medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene on Pinsker Street in the city gave her initial medical treatment and evacuated her to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa while performing CPR, as she suffered multi-system trauma. The hospital said doctors are fighting for her life, but managed to stabilize her condition. Magen David Adom emergency medic Abraham Feyblezon said, "We received a report about a toddler who was hit by a car. When we arrived at the scene, we saw the toddler unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, suffering from severe multi-system trauma. We began advanced resuscitation efforts at the scene of the accident, and while continuing resuscitation efforts we evacuated her in a Magen David Adom intensive care ambulance to the hospital, with her condition defined as critical."
On Saturday, a woman in her 20s was killed in a traffic accident between a truck and a private vehicle on Route 90, near the Arava Junction. The truck driver, a man in his 30s, was seriously injured. He was rescued after becoming trapped in his vehicle and evacuated by helicopter to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba. Hours earlier, a man in his 40s was killed in a traffic accident on Route 5, near the Kassem Interchange. Magen David Adom medics and paramedics who were called to the scene provided him with medical treatment, but were forced to pronounce him dead shortly afterward. Two other people were injured in that accident, a 39-year-old woman who was moderately injured and another person whose condition was described as mild.
