3-Year-Old Girl Injured in Kiryat Ata Crash Dies of Her Injuries
A 3-year-old toddler died today (Tuesday) of her injuries at Rambam Hospital, after being critically hurt yesterday in a traffic accident in Kiryat Ata. Rambam said, "After prolonged resuscitation efforts for the toddler, the hospital doctors were forced to pronounce her dead in the early morning hours. We share in the family's sorrow."
The report of the fatal accident reached MDA yesterday at around 7:00 p.m. A team that arrived at the scene performed resuscitation on the 3-year-old toddler, who was in critical condition with severe injuries to her body after being struck by a vehicle. Police who arrived at the scene detained the driver for questioning and opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
The accident occurred in a parking area of a building, apparently after a local resident drove in reverse and did not see the child, who suddenly emerged from behind the car.
