9-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured in Jerusalem Car Accident
A 9-year-old girl was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on Rabbi Shmuel Salant Street in Jerusalem on Wednesday. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the call at 14:19 and found the girl unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and suffering severe injuries. Paramedics Shimon Zaltz and Nachman Shay Ravivo immediately began resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions, ventilation, and medication administration, before rushing her to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital while continuing life-saving measures.
Earlier the same day, a 35-year-old pregnant woman from Jerusalem, at 30 weeks gestation, died in a head-on collision between two vehicles near the Ashdod port. She was initially taken in critical condition to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod, where doctors performed an emergency cesarean section to save her baby girl. The mother died during surgery, and the newborn was transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit in serious condition. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
