9-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured in Jerusalem Car Accident
A 9-year-old girl was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on Rabbi Shmuel Salant Street in Jerusalem on Wednesday. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived promptly and found the girl unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and with severe injuries. Paramedics performed resuscitation efforts including chest compressions, ventilation, and medication administration before urgently transporting her to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, continuing life-saving measures en route.
Earlier the same day, a 35-year-old pregnant woman from Jerusalem, at 30 weeks gestation, died in a head-on collision between two vehicles near Ashdod Port. She was rushed in critical condition to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod, where doctors performed an emergency cesarean section to save her baby girl. The mother died during surgery, while the newborn was transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit in serious condition. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
