9-Year-Old Boy Critically Hurt After Bus Hits Him While Cycling in Jerusalem
A serious traffic accident occurred Sunday evening in Jerusalem’s Ramat neighborhood, when a Haredi boy, estimated to be 9 to 10 years old, was struck by a bus while riding his bicycle on Sderot Ramat around 6:52 p.m. Emergency services said the child was trapped under the bus when responders arrived.
Rescue teams pulled him out while he was conscious and gave lifesaving treatment at the scene. He suffered severe multi-system injuries and received initial care that included stopping bleeding, bandaging, and immobilization.
The boy was then loaded into an intensive care ambulance and rushed to the trauma unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. His condition was described as serious but stable.
Police from the Lev Habira station in the Jerusalem District arrived to direct traffic and collect initial evidence, while Israel Police traffic investigators opened a full probe into the circumstances of the crash. Police said they had received reports that the child had likely been hit by a bus and was evacuated in serious condition by medical teams.
