IDF Forces Kill Hezbollah Terrorist in South Lebanon During Building Search
Israeli Defense Forces reservists from Brigade 679 killed a Hezbollah terrorist during a close-quarters encounter in Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon, on Tuesday. The operation was part of focused searches in a building where a reservist was seriously wounded the previous week. As the troops advanced inside the structure, the terrorist opened fire at close range, prompting an immediate and precise return of fire that neutralized him. A combat dog from the "Oketz" unit was also killed in the firefight. A female soldier from the same unit, operating alongside the force, displayed composure and accuracy in eliminating the threat face-to-face. No additional casualties were reported among Israeli forces.
The incident occurred under the command of Division 91 during security operations aimed at removing threats in the Bint Jbeil area. The IDF emphasized its commitment to decisively counter any danger posed by Hezbollah to Israeli civilians and soldiers. The army reaffirmed its resolve to continue proactive measures to ensure the safety of its personnel operating in the region.
