IDF Reservist Seriously Wounded in Clash with Militant in South Lebanon Near Bint Jbeil

Fighting continues on Israel's northern front as an IDF reservist was seriously injured on Thursday during an encounter with a militant in southern Lebanon. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. near the town of Bint Jbeil during a planned operational activity by the 679th Reserve Brigade, known as the "Yiftach" Brigade. The soldier was quickly evacuated for medical treatment, and his family was informed of the event.

The brigade forces, conducting missions in the area, came under fire from a militant armed inside a building. The troops responded immediately and forcefully, attacking the building with heavy shelling. Concurrently, the artillery division of the 91st Brigade directed Air Force aircraft to strike additional Hezbollah terrorist targets in the vicinity to destroy infrastructure and prevent further threats to the forces.

As of now, IDF troops remain deployed in the area, conducting extensive searches to locate and neutralize the militant responsible for the shooting. Additionally, the Givati Brigade has completed its mission in southern Lebanon.
