Israeli Reservist Severely Wounded in South Lebanon Clash with Militant
An Israeli reservist was seriously injured on Thursday evening during a confrontation in southern Lebanon. The incident occurred around 18:00 when a unit from the 679th Reserve Brigade entered a building in Bint Jbeil and encountered a militant who opened fire. The wounded soldier was evacuated to a hospital for treatment, and his family was informed. Two additional soldiers sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
Following the shooting, the Israeli Air Force and tank units struck the building involved in the clash. Search operations to locate and neutralize the militant are ongoing. Bint Jbeil is located within the Israeli security zone, approximately 4.5 kilometers from the Israeli settlement of Avivim.
This incident follows a similar event last Friday in the village of Beit Yahoun in southern Lebanon, where four soldiers from the Givati Brigade were moderately and lightly injured after a Hezbollah militant threw a grenade at their unit.
