IDF Reservist Severely Injured in Explosion During Operations in South Lebanon

An Israeli Defense Forces reservist was seriously wounded in an explosion in southern Lebanon on Monday, according to an IDF spokesperson. The soldier was evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and his family has been informed of his condition. This incident adds to a series of severe events in recent weeks amid ongoing IDF operations in the security zone of southern Lebanon.

The IDF continues to conduct extensive operational activities aimed at exposing terrorist infrastructure and destroying Hezbollah weapons caches. Recently, the Israeli Air Force struck three Hezbollah command centers in the Nabatiyeh and Mayfadoun areas in response to continued attacks on IDF forces by Hezbollah militants.

Last week was particularly difficult for the IDF in Lebanon, with several casualties including Lieutenant Colonel Dor Ben Shmuel and his tank crew, who were killed when a Hezbollah drone equipped with anti-tank munitions hit their tank’s fuel tank. Additionally, Captain David Hazut, a 21-year-old company commander from Ashkelon, was killed in an early morning clash with a Hezbollah terrorist near Deir Sirian.

During the previous night, ten soldiers were wounded in a confrontation in southern Lebanon, with three seriously injured, one moderately injured, and six lightly wounded. All were evacuated for medical care. The IDF emphasized its commitment to neutralizing threats and preventing Hezbollah from harming Israeli civilians, promising to continue its operational efforts in the region.
