IDF Reservist Severely Wounded in Explosion During Operation in South Lebanon

An IDF reservist was seriously injured on Monday around 13:30 during an operational activity by the Commando Brigade in the Kfar Arnoun area of South Lebanon. The injury resulted from an explosion whose cause remains unclear. The soldier was evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and his family has been notified. The IDF spokesperson stated that the circumstances of the incident are under investigation, with security forces examining whether the explosion was caused by an explosive device, leftover weaponry, or another factor. Despite the incident, the forces continued their operation in the area.

This event follows a deadly encounter just one day earlier, in which Captain David Hazut, 21, from Ashkelon and a platoon commander in the Golani Brigade's 12th Battalion, was killed during a firefight with a Hezbollah militant in the Dir Sirian area of South Lebanon. In that clash, another soldier was lightly wounded, and the IDF responded with artillery strikes on the location. The recent incidents highlight ongoing tensions and hostilities in the South Lebanon region involving Israeli forces and Hezbollah militants.
