IDF Forces Kill Hezbollah Gunman in South Lebanon During Operation

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers from the Yiftach Reserve Brigade (679), operating under the 91st Division in the Bint Jbeil area of southern Lebanon, killed a Hezbollah gunman who opened fire on them during a military operation on Tuesday. The troops were conducting searches in a building where a clash had occurred the previous Thursday, during which a reservist was seriously wounded. During the search, the Hezbollah militant fired at the soldiers, prompting an immediate return of fire by an IDF combatant from the "Oketz" unit, who neutralized the attacker. The IDF reported no injuries among their forces, but a dog from the Oketz unit was killed in the encounter. Separately, the IDF also eliminated five militants attempting to rehabilitate an underground tunnel in Gaza. The IDF emphasized its commitment to continue operations to neutralize threats in the security zone and prevent Hezbollah from harming Israeli soldiers or civilians.
