Israeli Border Police Officer Investigated for Throwing Stun Grenade into Vehicle in Qalandiya
The Israeli Police Investigations Department (Mahash) has launched an inquiry into a Border Police officer who was filmed throwing a stun grenade into a vehicle carrying passengers in the Qalandiya area. The footage, captured by security cameras, shows a loud confrontation between the officer and the vehicle's occupants. During the incident, the officer throws the stun grenade inside the car and then closes the door, apparently to prevent the driver from exiting until the grenade detonates.
Qalandiya is known as a consistently tense area with frequent security operations by the Israel Defense Forces and Border Police. Recently, security forces conducted a large-scale operation in the area, searching approximately 100 buildings, confiscating over 10 weapons, and arresting six wanted individuals. The investigation by Mahash focuses on the officer's conduct and use of force in this incident.
