“I Have Chills”: Influencer Reacts After Suspected Dressing Room Voyeur Is Arrested

“I have chills”: Influencer Shir Weiss, who was filmed while trying on clothes in a fitting room, reacts to the arrest of the suspect in the case: “I have chills, we are not afraid anymore.” This comes after police arrested the 25-year-old suspect on suspicion of serious privacy violations and alleged sex offenses.

Shir Weiss, 25, a social media influencer, courageously revealed last week a difficult experience she went through when she was recorded getting dressed in a fitting room at a store in TLV Mall. After police arrested the 25-year-old suspect on suspicion of serious privacy violations and alleged sex offenses, she shared her sense of relief last night, Wednesday: “Thank you to the Israel Police, you restored my faith. To me and to many other women. I have chills. A revolution. The power is with women. We are not afraid anymore.”

The suspect was taken for an extensive interrogation at the police station, where he was questioned about the allegations against him. At the end of the investigation, and in light of the serious suspicions, it was decided to detain him. Police continue to gather evidence and build the case against him. Today, he was brought before the court for a hearing, where police requested to extend his detention. This is in order to allow the investigation to continue and to prevent obstruction of proceedings.

As recalled, about a week ago Shir revealed that she had been filmed while trying on clothes in a fitting room at a Bershka store in the city mall. According to her, during her time in the booth she noticed a mobile phone aimed at her from the adjacent booth, and began shouting and confronting the suspect, who she said denied the act. Following her complaint, a police investigation was opened, during which the suspect’s photo was also published to help the public identify and locate him.

This morning, just one day after the suspect was arrested, another complaint was received against him alleging rape from another complainant, according to our reporter Mylan Amar. In the coming hours he will be brought before a judge for an extension of his detention, after which the investigation will continue.
