Israeli Forward Sean Weissman Signs Long-Term Deal with Beitar Jerusalem
Beitar Jerusalem has made a major move in the Israeli transfer market by signing Israeli national team striker Sean Weissman. After intense negotiations, the 30-year-old forward agreed to a three-year contract with the Jerusalem club. Weissman is set to become the highest-paid player on the team, earning approximately 270,000 euros per season. The club's management decided to invest heavily to bring Weissman back to Israel after seven years playing abroad in Austria, Spain, and Italy. Last season, he played for Blau-Weiß Linz in Austria's second division, scoring nine goals in 27 appearances.
This dramatic signing reshapes Beitar Jerusalem's plans for the 2026/27 season roster. The club had anticipated signing midfielder Dan Glazer, but after learning he preferred Maccabi Tel Aviv or Maccabi Netanya, they shifted strategy. Instead of recruiting a foreign striker, Beitar will use their resources to sign a high-caliber foreign defensive midfielder to replace Ailson Tavares, who recently left. Weissman is expected to join his new teammates soon, who are currently training at the club's camp in Pravets, Bulgaria.
