Beitar Jerusalem is waiting for Sean Weissman to decide whether he wants to return to Israel. If he does, he is expected to sign for two years and join Almog Cohen’s squad. Weissman has been abroad for seven years, and the choice is described as a family decision about returning to Israel or continuing his life and career overseas.
At the same time, talks between Beitar and Dan Glazer have accelerated after it became clear that Dor Peretz is leaning toward a move abroad or to Maccabi Tel Aviv. The current options for Glazer are a one-year or two-year contract, but there are still gaps between the sides.
Until Glazer reaches an agreement with Beitar, he will not approach Kairat to secure his release. If Weissman and Glazer both arrive, Beitar will consider adding another foreign winger.
That plan also depends on the future of Yarden Shua and on the final assessment of when Eugene Ansa will receive Israeli citizenship. Beitar’s aim is to preserve the option of signing another foreign player in January to strengthen the squad.
