Beitar Jerusalem is continuing its planning for next season, and after concluding that Dor Peretz is likely not coming, the club has shifted its focus to midfielder Dan Glazer. Peretz is in talks with clubs abroad, making a move to Jerusalem increasingly unlikely.
Inside Beitar, Glazer, 29, is highly regarded, and club officials believe he fits the team’s sporting needs better than Peretz. Glazer’s contract with Kairat runs until December, and Beitar plans to try to bring him in for next season.
Another midfield option under consideration is Shai Elias, who has ended his spell with Hapoel Be'er Sheva and decided to move on. Elias plays a different role from Glazer, but he is still being seriously considered as an Israeli reinforcement for the coming campaign.
Beitar has already added three new players this summer: Daniel Varko and Noam Motza, both signed before last season ended, and Tomer Yosefi, who has just joined the club.
