Beitar Jerusalem has not yet decided which player will become its final midfield reinforcement, and officials may postpone the choice until later in the transfer window. The main options are a foreign midfielder, Dan Glazer, or Shai Elias, with all possibilities still open.
Talks with Glazer remain far apart. The player is reportedly demanding a two-year or three-year contract, while the sides are not close to agreement. Beitar has also been making quiet contact regarding Elias, but no decision has been made on whether to sign him.
At the same time, Almog Cohen continues to examine foreign options. The club’s midfield plans could change after Sean Weissman decides whether he wants to return to Israel. Weissman has promised Beitar an answer in the coming days, and if he joins, he would occupy the foreign attacking slot, which would make the option of signing a foreign midfielder relevant again.
Beitar currently has eight registered foreign players. Ailson Tavares is expected to leave soon, and Eugene Ansah may be registered as an interim resident in the near future, which could free up another foreign slot. However, it is not certain that this will happen during the current transfer window.
