Beitar Jerusalem may turn to Shay Elias as backup midfield option
Beitar Jerusalem is still searching for a defensive midfielder and may move for Shay Elias if Dan Glazer chooses to return to Maccabi Tel Aviv. According to the report, the Jerusalem club is preparing an alternative for the holding midfield role should that scenario unfold.
Elias, who played for Hapoel Be'er Sheva last season, was part of the club's championship campaign and has since been released in the summer, making him a free agent. In league play, he scored once in 16 Premier League appearances and logged only 392 minutes.
At the same time, Beitar are also considering another option for the position, Christian Martinez, the Panama national team midfielder currently at Kiryat Shmona. The club's midfield search remains open as it evaluates its next move.
