Beitar Jerusalem is continuing preparations for next season, but the club’s pursuit of striker Sean Weissman remains highly uncertain. Weissman, 30, finished the season at Austria’s Blau Weiss Linz and is now weighing his next move, with the main question being whether he wants to return to play in Israel at all.
According to the report, Beitar currently does not know if Weissman is even interested in coming back. Even if he does express interest, his demands are considered very high, both in salary and in the length of the contract, which he wants to be three years. The club plans to wait a few more days before deciding how to proceed, and the deal is still far from final.
If Weissman decides not to join, the coaching staff may try to sign a foreign striker instead. In that scenario, Beitar would also advance its talks with Dan Glazer.
Another foreign player likely on the way out is midfielder Ailson Tavarez. Tavarez, 27, is under contract for next season, but the club has already decided to release him. Beitar put him up for sale abroad, though for now he is drawing interest from clubs in Israel. Tavarez is currently in the country along with Jonbosco Kalu, Boris Ino, Nana Antwi, Eugene Ansah and some of the other foreign players, while the rest are expected to return to Israel this week.
