Beitar Jerusalem Prepares for 2026/27 Season with Shon Weissman Integration and Midfield Decisions

Beitar Jerusalem is advancing its preparations for the 2026/27 season, focusing on integrating new striker Shon Weissman into the team. Weissman, who chose the number 19 jersey, has impressed with his excellent physical condition, showing low body fat percentages during fitness tests. Despite this, the club plans to gradually introduce him into competitive play, with neither Weissman nor Tomer Yosefi expected to feature in the upcoming friendly match against Arda on Tuesday.

The team is undergoing a rigorous training camp, featuring three sessions per day and an average of 14 kilometers run by each player daily. Coach Almog Cohen, emphasizing physical fitness as crucial for success, shared that his training methods are influenced by his experience playing in the Bundesliga. Cohen highlighted that the key difference between average and top players is their ability to maintain constant movement.

Regarding squad reinforcement, Beitar Jerusalem continues to monitor foreign midfielders but is cautious about making immediate signings due to injury risks. The club aims to strengthen the midfield but will delay decisions until later. Meanwhile, Daniel Vorko, a recent acquisition from Hapoel Ramat Gan, is standing out in training. Decisions on players Ilai Hajaj and Ravid Abergil, who are likely to be loaned out again, will be made at the end of the camp.
