Weissman appears to be slipping away from Beitar Jerusalem, as club advances for Ansa

Beitar Jerusalem is moving ahead in the summer transfer market after finishing second last season and preparing for a stronger 2026/27 campaign under Almog Cohen. The current expectation is that striker Shon Weissman will not join the club from the capital, and that has pushed Beitar to make progress in talks with Eugene Ansa.

The club is also considering bringing in an additional Israeli striker for the squad. Beitar hopes to finalize Ansa’s signing in the coming days, with the aim of traveling to the team’s training camp with a full roster.

Beitar’s offer to Ansa was reported at 280,000 euros per season, on a two-year deal with annual salary increases and an option for another year. Ansa had extended his contract with Ashdod until 2027 last summer, but after the club was relegated to the second division, he became a free agent.

Meanwhile, there is still no update regarding Dor Peretz, and Beitar continues to wait for the player’s decision on his future.
