Shon Weissman Signs With Beitar Jerusalem, Returning to Israeli Football

Shon Weissman has officially joined Beitar Jerusalem, signing a contract with the capital club on Friday. The Israeli striker agreed to terms with club owner Barak Abramov and sporting director Almog Cohen. Under the deal, Weissman is expected to earn approximately 270,000 euros per season, marking one of Beitar's most significant signings in the current transfer window. Following Weissman's arrival, the club plans to sign a foreign midfielder instead of Dan Glazer.

Weissman expressed his enthusiasm about returning to Israel after seven years playing in Europe, stating that this move is both a professional and heartfelt decision. He emphasized the pride of playing in front of his family, fans, and country, especially for Beitar Jerusalem, where his career began. "I come hungry, committed, and excited to give my all on the pitch and proudly represent the fans," he said.

The striker returns after a lengthy European career, having played in Spain, Italy, and Austria. Last season, he scored 10 goals in all competitions for Austria's Blau-Weiß Linz. Beitar Jerusalem believes Weissman's experience and proven ability abroad will provide a crucial offensive boost as he is expected to lead the attack alongside the club's other forwards in the upcoming season.
