Man Stabs Friend 59 Times Then Returns to Burn Body in Northern Israel

In a horrific crime in northern Israel, Emil Avshaib, 46, has been charged with the brutal murder of Yoav Gilboa, 53, along the coastal highway. According to the indictment filed by the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office, Avshaib stabbed Gilboa 59 times in a frenzied attack before burning his body to cover up the crime. The case reveals a chilling family cover-up involving Avshaib's close relatives.

The incident began when Gilboa and Avshaib were traveling together in Avshaib's car on the coastal road. For unclear reasons, Gilboa exited the vehicle and was left stranded by Avshaib. When Gilboa attempted to hitchhike across the highway, Avshaib turned back, stopped, and attacked him with a sharp object, stabbing him repeatedly and leaving him to die at the roadside.

After the murder, Avshaib returned home in Hadera and enlisted his family to erase evidence. His 22-year-old son helped clean blood from the car, while his sister's partner, Ruslan Abramov, 37, purchased gasoline. In the early hours, Avshaib and Abramov returned to the crime scene, doused the body with gasoline, and set it on fire. The next day, Avshaib's sister, Ella, 47, and Abramov thoroughly cleaned the car again to remove any remaining traces.

The investigation, led by the Coastal District Police, concluded with severe charges against Avshaib, including intentional murder under aggravating circumstances, arson, and obstruction of justice. It was also revealed that Avshaib was driving without a valid license or insurance at the time. His family members face serious charges related to arson and interfering with the investigation, each according to their role.

This gruesome case has shocked the local community and highlights the extent of the family’s involvement in attempting to conceal the crime.
