Three People Killed in Less Than an Hour in Netanya, Shfaram, and Yagur

Within the span of one hour on Wednesday morning, three individuals were fatally shot or stabbed in separate incidents across northern Israel. In Yagur, near Haifa, a 21-year-old man was shot dead while sitting in his car in a shopping center parking lot. Paramedics found him unconscious with severe gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Shortly before that, 24-year-old Ali Kamel Swead was shot and killed in Shfaram. Emergency medical teams arrived to find him unconscious with serious gunshot injuries and confirmed his death on site. In Netanya, Rabbi Amos Guetta, aged 70, was stabbed four times at the entrance to a synagogue. He was evacuated to Laniado Hospital but succumbed to his wounds. The police arrested a suspect, a man in his 20s from Netanya and reportedly the rabbi’s student, who allegedly stabbed him following a dispute. The suspect claimed he intended to pray with the rabbi before the argument escalated.

The Shas movement mourned Rabbi Guetta, praising his decades of Torah teaching and efforts to bring Jews closer to their faith, especially in Netanya and among Libyan Jewry. Paramedics at the scenes described the victims as suffering severe injuries that left no chance of survival.

Additionally, the previous day, a man named Ravia Abu Haikal, around 50 years old and with a criminal background, died in a car explosion in Haifa’s Kiryat Haim neighborhood. Police suspect a bomb was attached to his vehicle, and the incident is under criminal investigation.

These violent events have raised concerns about security and ongoing tensions in the region, with investigations continuing into the motives and circumstances of each case.
