Three Murders in Israel Within an Hour Including Prominent Rabbi Stabbed in Netanya Yeshiva
Within the span of one hour on the morning of July 1, 2026, three separate murders occurred across Israel. A well-known rabbi, approximately 75 years old, was fatally stabbed inside a yeshiva in Netanya. The suspected assailant is reportedly one of his students, whose identity is known, and he is currently evading police capture.
In addition to the stabbing in Netanya, two other fatal shootings took place: a 21-year-old man was shot dead in Yagur, and a 24-year-old man was shot dead in Shfaram. Emergency medical teams arriving at the Netanya scene found the rabbi unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and suffering from severe penetrating wounds. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts and emergency treatment, his condition was critical upon hospital transfer.
Authorities are continuing their search for the stabbing suspect while investigations into all three murders are underway. The incidents have raised significant concern due to their close timing and violent nature.
