Prominent Rabbi Stabbed to Death in Netanya Yeshiva, Police Hunt Suspect

A well-known rabbi in his 70s was fatally stabbed on Wednesday morning at a yeshiva located on Shimon Bar Yochai Street in Netanya. Emergency responders provided medical treatment at the scene and transported him in critical condition to Laniado Hospital, where doctors later declared his death. The Netanya police station immediately launched an investigation into the stabbing and are conducting an extensive manhunt for the suspect.

According to police reports, the incident involved a violent attack on a local resident in his 70s. Forensic teams arrived at the yeshiva to collect evidence while officers carried out broad searches to locate the perpetrator. Authorities currently believe the stabbing was motivated by criminal reasons, though the exact circumstances remain under investigation.

Magen David Adom paramedics Jonathan Yankelvich and Shmuel Salmon, who first arrived at the scene, described finding the victim unconscious with penetrating injuries. They administered initial medical care before rushing him to the hospital in a mobile intensive care unit. Despite efforts, the victim succumbed to his wounds shortly after arrival. Police continue to probe the case and pursue leads to apprehend the attacker.
