Four Killed in Under 24 Hours Amid Rising Violence in Central Israel
Within less than 24 hours, four people were killed in separate violent incidents in central Israel, highlighting a surge in criminal violence. On Sunday, two men in their 40s were shot dead in Kafr Qasim. Emergency medical teams arrived to find both victims unconscious with severe gunshot wounds and pronounced them dead at the scene. Police suspect the shooting stemmed from a family feud and launched a manhunt for the suspects while collecting forensic evidence.
Earlier the same day, a 38-year-old man was killed in Jaffa when a bomb attached to his Mazda exploded after he drove about 100 meters. The blast also moderately injured his six-year-old son, who was in the car and was taken to Wolfson Hospital in stable condition. Police bomb disposal experts confirmed the device weighed about half a kilogram. Neighbors described the explosion as terrifying and expressed growing fear over the frequent violent incidents in the area.
During the night, a 20-year-old man was shot dead and another seriously wounded in Tayibe. Police believe this shooting also resulted from a family dispute and have assigned the Sharon district crime unit to investigate. Medical teams found one victim without vital signs and attempted resuscitation before he was declared dead at Meir Hospital. The other victim was conscious and hospitalized.
Authorities have deployed significant resources including forensic teams and bomb squads to investigate these events. The police are actively searching for suspects in all cases. Residents voiced alarm over the escalating violence, questioning the state of security and fearing further attacks.
These incidents reflect a troubling rise in violent crime linked to family conflicts and organized crime in central Israel, prompting intensified police efforts to restore order and prevent further bloodshed.
