Five Killed in 24 Hours Amid Rising Blood Feuds and Low Murder Clearance Rates in Arab Sector

In the past 24 hours, five people have been killed in incidents largely linked to ongoing blood feuds and revenge cycles, according to new police investigation details. The violence highlights a sharp increase in murders within the Arab community and a persistently low clearance rate of just 4.5% for homicide cases since the start of the year.

In Holon, 25-year-old Mostafa Bulsan died after an explosive device detonated in his vehicle, causing extensive damage including the complete destruction of six nearby cars. Bulsan, recently released from prison, had been previously implicated in a 2024 Jaffa murder case involving evidence tampering and concealing the killers’ clothing. Police suspect his killing was retaliatory for his role in that crime.

Earlier the same day in Jaffa, Iyad Raib was also killed by a car bomb. His six-year-old son, who was in the vehicle at the time, was injured and is currently hospitalized in moderate condition. Authorities believe Raib’s murder was revenge for the killing of 16-year-old Ahmad Jabari last Thursday, part of an ongoing family feud.

Despite the severity and frequency of these attacks, police have not yet arrested or detained any suspects in the four murders that occurred during the day. Overall, the number of Arab community homicide victims has risen to 138 this year, a 16% increase compared to the same period last year, underscoring the escalating violence and challenges faced by law enforcement.
