El Al said it is suspending its Tel Aviv-Moscow service for the coming days because of recent developments in the Russia-Ukraine war and recent aviation incidents in the region. The decision comes after a wave of large drone attacks around Moscow that has repeatedly forced shutdowns at the Russian capital’s major airports.
In a statement, the airline said, "Due to the developments between Russia and Ukraine and the recent aviation events in the area, El Al is forced to suspend its activity on the Tel Aviv-Moscow route for the coming days." It added that a new situation assessment will be carried out next week, and only then will the company decide whether to resume flights on the route.
El Al said passengers will be updated and will be able to choose among alternative options in accordance with the law. The article notes that over the past few weeks, Ukraine has carried out a series of drone attacks in the Moscow area, causing repeated disruptions to all of the city’s main airports.
