Netanyahu Praises Passengers Who Thwarted Deadly Attack on FlyDubai Flight

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a serious security incident aboard a FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv on Wednesday, September 30. The flight made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after one pilot allegedly attacked another with a knife, reportedly intending to crash the plane. "This morning, an extremely serious security incident occurred on a flight from Dubai to Israel. Almost all passengers on the flight were Israelis," Netanyahu stated. He revealed he spoke with a passenger who described the aircraft suddenly descending. This passenger, along with a crew member, entered the cockpit and subdued the assailant. Another crew member then entered the cockpit and stabilized the aircraft. "I thank these heroes who showed exceptional resourcefulness and courage. They saved many lives and prevented a terrible disaster," Netanyahu said. The flight landed safely in Saudi Arabia, and the suspect pilot is in custody and being questioned by Saudi authorities.
