Rahat Shooting Continues Despite Police Arrests in Family Feud
Residents of Givot Bar, near the city of Rahat, were awakened on the morning of the Sukkot holiday by continuous gunfire originating from Rahat. In response, police announced on Monday the arrest of 10 additional suspects involved in shooting incidents stemming from an ongoing feud between two families in the city.
Despite these arrests, which occurred over the past weekend and into the current week, video evidence from Rahat indicates that the shooting incidents persist. Police officers from the Rahat station, along with combatants from the Sahar unit and the southern Magav (Border Police) forces, conducted searches and made arrests at the homes and premises of the two feuding families.
The ten individuals apprehended on Monday were transferred to the Rahat police station for further investigation. The Israel Police stated, "The police will continue to act with determination and continuously against the perpetrators of violence, with the aim of thwarting additional shooting incidents, locating and arresting those involved, and maintaining the safety and security of the city's residents."
