Two Arrested in Rahat After Gunfire Incident, Weapon Seized
Police in southern Israel announced the arrest of two suspects following a shooting incident in the city of Rahat on Tuesday evening. Officers from the Rahat police and the "Sahar" unit responded to a report of gunfire in Neighborhood 20, finding shell casings at the scene.
Law enforcement quickly moved to locate the suspects and the vehicle believed to have been used in the incident. The suspected vehicle was identified and stopped by police outside the neighborhood.
During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a loaded M-16 rifle, along with six empty magazines and ammunition. The two suspects were apprehended and taken to the police station for further investigation, along with the seized weapon and ammunition. The operation was part of an ongoing effort by police to combat shooting incidents, violence, and illegal weapons possession in Rahat, aiming to enhance resident security.
