Toddler Critically Injured After Colliding With Pole in Jerusalem Playground
A three-year-old boy sustained critical head injuries on Sunday evening after colliding with a pole while riding a toy vehicle in a playground in Jerusalem's Ramot neighborhood. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene on Avraham Idelson Street.
Paramedics provided initial treatment at the site before transporting the child to Shaare Zedek Medical Center for further care. The child was reportedly riding a "bimba," a type of ride-on toy, when the accident occurred.
One of the first responders, Binyamin Mendelsohn, described finding the toddler with a severe head injury. He stated that the medical team administered first aid, including stopping bleeding, immobilizing the child, and bandaging his wounds. The child was then transferred to a mobile intensive care unit for transport to the hospital's trauma unit, where he is listed in serious condition.
