Ambassador Leiter Shares Hopeful Update on Son Injured in Terror Attack

Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter provided an update on his son, Neriyah, who was critically injured in a terror attack last week near Route 443 in the Benjamin region. Neriyah remains in life-threatening condition, but Ambassador Leiter shared that there have been "promising signs" that offer the family hope.

In a social media post, Leiter expressed gratitude for the widespread prayers and support. "We believe in the power of prayer, that G-d hears prayer and can heal when healing appears impossible," he stated. He also requested that prayers for Neriyah include well wishes for all those severely injured by terrorists, calling them "heroes who ensure we persevere and win the battle against those who spread death and destruction."

The attack occurred when a terrorist rammed his vehicle into soldiers conducting a checkpoint near Route 443. After hitting Neriyah, the assailant exited the vehicle and charged at other soldiers, who then neutralized him. Neriyah was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center and underwent emergency brain surgery upon arrival.
