Appointments Committee Cancels Idan David's Chairmanship of Netivei Ayalon

The Appointments Committee has revoked its approval of Idan David's eligibility, thereby nullifying his tenure as chairman of Netivei Ayalon. This decision stems from significant discrepancies found in the data David presented during his appointment process, along with allegations that submitted documents lacked proper signatures. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.

The committee's decision on Sunday followed a directive from Police Commander Boaz Baltz, head of the Investigations and Intelligence Department, to investigate David on suspicion of forgery and other offenses. This probe was initiated after a Channel 12 investigation uncovered irregularities.

The committee detailed that the core issue involved financial data David provided regarding his experience at Migdalit company. He had claimed revenues of approximately 800 million shekels, assets of about 1 billion shekels, and 400 employees. However, a subsequent audited financial report for 2015 revealed significantly lower figures, with revenues around 16.9 million shekels and assets of 19.2 million shekels.

Further complicating matters, an accountant's confirmation submitted by David was disavowed by accountant Yoram Barzani, who stated the document was a forgery and not signed by him. The CEO of Migdalit also reportedly denied signing approvals attributed to him. The committee noted that both individuals whose names appeared on the supporting documents denied their authenticity.

David, in his response, asserted his extensive professional experience and suggested the limited time for rebuttal prevented a full response. He also raised concerns that the inquiry might be politically motivated due to his role at Netivei Ayalon. The committee dismissed his explanation, deeming it a "mere denial" and concluding that based on the available information, they would not have approved his candidacy initially. The committee also noted a document concerning IDY GROUP, signed by David's wife without disclosing their relationship, but clarified this was not the basis for their decision.

Ultimately, the committee determined that "a flaw was found in material and relevant information provided by Mr. David to the committee," and based on the current facts, his appointment would not have been approved. Consequently, their prior approval of his eligibility is void, and his chairmanship of Netivei Ayalon is terminated.
